In 2018, the City of Rochester and the Friends of Roc City retained New Line Skatepark’s to work in partnership with Stantec to plan and design a world-class skatepark facility as an extension of the Roc the Riverway Development. This master-planned skatepark development allows Rochester residents and regional visitors to participate in Action Sports, host events and demonstrations as well as reinvigorate the area. As the first concrete, wheel-friendly progressive sports facility in the area, Roc City Skatepark enhances underutilized land and engages the community as a regional destination for healthy outdoor recreation. The skatepark features a diverse selection of bowls, transition ramps, banks, and street-oriented rails and ledges all designed in its complex under-bridge location in close coordination with NYSDOT. The final layout allows access for DOT maintenance vehicles under the bridge while ensuring enough clearance for skaters and other users. With phase 1 being a huge success, our team has already begun work on phase 2 of this amazing integrated facility!
