The Amherst Lions Skatepark was completed in the Spring of 2011. The park’s configuration is largely plaza-based with various ledges, rails, stairs, hips, a central green space, and a unique cantilevered skateable entry sign. To satisfy transition interests, a versatile 3/4 bowl was also included adjacent to the central plaza. Along with serving as a great place for skateboarding/bmx enthusiasts, the park is also simply an inviting and exciting public space for the entire community! (photos: Amherst Daily News)
