PARKS AND RECREATION ONTARIO AWARD OF EXCELLENCE IN DESIGN PROJECT
New Line Skateparks is honoured to have been selected by the Town of Pelham and to have the experience of collaborating with the Town, Isaac’s friends and family as well as the skatepark committee providing design-build services to create the Isaac Riehl Memorial Park Skatepark. Our public consultation program included conceptual design workshops and presentation meetings as well as a site evaluation and site selection meetings – resulting in an approximate 9,000sqft skatepark located in Marlene Stewart Streit Park near downtown Fonthill. The skatepark includes three main sections; a 2.5‘ high down-ramp ledge and rail section, a flat-ground ledge and rail section and a 3.5’ to 4.5’ deep mini-ramp and ditch run section. The connecting corners sections include a 4’ high hip ramp, a box ledge feature that also creates an extension corner for the mini-ramp, and a 4.5’ high curved transition ramp that also serves as the prime project signage element. Signature features include the ‘comfort maple’ tree trunk volcano, the memorial tree, and a ledge feature engraved with words and phrases composed to honour Isaac’s memory and to inspire all youth that visit the park.
